MADE IN CHINA
We proudly produce shoes in China and aim to dispel stigmas around quality and working conditions associated with manufacturing in the region. We have worked with two factory partners in China since the inception of INTENTIONALLY BLANK. Specializing in small boutique production with a focus on high-quality craftsmanship, both operations are situated in Houjie, China. These facilities are highly sophisticated, providing progressive working environments for their small teams of skilled workers. Through these intimate partnerships, we have direct access to production at every level. Our team conducts regular visits to the factories and sample rooms, working alongside our partners to develop new products and ensure quality standards are met. Our primary partner in China is entirely woman-owned and operated. This close relationship has enabled us to work at a higher level to focus on quality, innovative techniques and elevated processes in our manufacturing. We are currently collaborating closely with this partner to identify opportunities to use recycled leather in our shoes and to develop new product lines using scrap and excess materials. There is a global misconception that shoes made in China are poor quality. For decades, China has been a powerhouse in the footwear industry. While there are certainly mass production facilities across the country, we choose to work with small agents and factories that align with our values. Our Chinese partners boast a wealth of expertise and a level of craftsmanship that rivals our factories in Spain.
